You know those words or phrases that you hear over and over again? Why are they used? What do they mean? Here are some that we find, well, interesting. This is not intended to be a language lesson; rather, observations of repeated words or phrases that seem to be in vogue, without knowing why or how. We hear these in our disability and life waiver of premium claims and consulting business, as well as away from work in our social lives, or on the couch. Sometimes we’ll even count how many of these words or phrases are used on a conference call or meeting.

In the last year, we hear the word “so” much more than ever. Not when written but when spoken; particularly at the beginning of a sentence or thought. We’re not sure that it necessarily bugs us but there is something that we can’t put our fingers on.
